3 days and 2 nights
Art, history, culture, nature, wellness, folklore, shopping and fine cuisine… there’s something for everyone in Viterbo! For art and history buffs, Viterbo, “the city of the Popes”, and its surroundings offer a millennial journey that starts in the sixth century BC, the period in which the Etruscan Necropolis of Castel d’Asso was built, and arrives at the Renaissance Villa Lante, named the “most beautiful garden of Italy” in 2011. Your journey will take you through the medieval neighbourhoods of Viterbo’s old town, accessible by the gates along the massive city walls. Shopping lovers will be sure to make great finds in the craft workshops set long the city centre’s narrow streets. Gourmands will definitely enjoy the authentic local cuisine served in Viterbo’s little restaurants. A holiday in Viterbo is not complete without a stop at the Terme dei Papi thermal spa for a rejuvenating bath in its warm and sulphurous waters or in the various natural hot springs scattered throughout the countryside around the city.
