On the way to Civita di Bagnoregio, close to a nature reserve, a couple of artists have created a unique art workshop perfectly integrated with the surrounding natural environment. At Farmhouse Doppio Sguardo, Regula works as a freelance stone sculptor while Francesco creates incredible artworks with recycled materials and natural colors.
In a day spent at the farmhouse, under the guidance of Francesco you’ll be able to collect your raw materials inside the nature reserve, prepare them and then create your unique painting. However, the experience is not over, part of the collected vegetables and flowers will be magically transformed into a delicious lunch! In the afternoon, you’ll visit Civita di Bagnoregio. A real gem, this town’s fame reaches well beyond Tuscia. Set in the verdant Valle dei Calanchi valley, Civita di Bagnoregio is a tiny village perched atop a limestone cliff. Two aspects set this town apart: its isolation as it can only be reached via a long, steep, pedestrian bridge, and the fact that because the valley and the cliff itself are progressively and naturally eroding, Civita is slowly disappearing, hence its nickname, the “dying city”.
