Come immerse yourself in history, walking along the long, centuries-old road that led pilgrims from Canterbury, England, to Rome.
Sigerico, the Archbishop of Canterbury walked the Via Francigena in 990 AD to pay a visit to Pope John XV. It passes through Tuscia crossing a dozen of charming medieval villages such as Capranica, Sutri, Montefiascone, Bolsena and Viterbo. You will retrace one of the most evocative stages of the ancient route in a day of soft guided trekking on the paths of the ancient pilgrims; in the afternoon, after refreshing with a delicious packed lunch, you’ll visit the extraordinary Archaeological park of Sutri with its Etruscan tombs, the Mitreum and a Roman amphitheater. An unforgettable experience that will enrich your soul!
