The Falesco Winery located in-between Lazio and Umbria is on a picturesque piece of land with 100 acres of vineyards that produce only the best wine. I was lucky enough to get a tour of the facility which included seeing where the grapes are picked, smashed, separated, stored, and eventually bottled and labeled. Along with a tour, we were also treated to a tasting of three products.
The first bottle we sampled was a dry, sparkling white wine from their newest line. Then we sampled a light white wine and a red wine. Half of their grapes are hand picked and the other half are picked by machines. After touring and sampling their products, it was easy to see that they take great pride in the product that they produce. Coming from an area in California close to Sonoma and Napa Valley which are famous for their wine, Wineries are nothing new to me. I really enjoyed the experience of seeing how wine is produced in Italy and I find it very interesting to compare the processes to those wineries here and those back in California.0
