Due Righe Book Bar
By Emily Schultze
As you round a corner in Viterbo’s historic San Pellegrino district, music joins the low chatter of those sitting outside. Twinkling lights highlight the leaves resting against the brick, finishing off this picturesque snapshot of Italy. This enchanting place is called Due Righe Book Bar. Since it’s opening in 2010, the book bar has become a popular spot for people of all backgrounds. With a couches interspersed between the collections of dark wood tables, and book shelves lining the back room, the book bar is as cosy as its exterior leads you to believe.
With books in languages such as English, French, German, and, of course, Italian, this is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and have a relaxing evening. They have a large selection of international and local craft beers as well as tea, infusions, chocolate and coffee. Their signature drink, the Josephine, is always a delicious choice too.
You can even grab dinner with your choice beverage. From 7:30-9:30 pm, an unlimited supply of the day’s buffet is included with the purchase of any drink. The dishes can include everything from a cheese platter to various pizza and pasta dishes. The buffet also changes daily, so you can keep coming back for more without worrying about monotony creeping in. However, the book bar is not only a place for you to enjoy some alone time or have a night out with friends, it also hosts live music. A quick check of their Facebook page allows you to see when certain artists are playing, so you can integrate some music into your night.
If you are looking for a way to spend your evening in Viterbo, Due Righe Book Bar is the place to go.
